On behalf of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Chicago Medical School, welcome. We’re glad you’re here and exploring what our program has to offer as you shape your future in medicine.

Our program is intentionally designed to provide a highly personalized and engaging training experience. We prioritize meaningful mentorship, close collaboration with faculty, and an environment where every resident is known, supported, and empowered to grow. Here, your voice matters, your contributions are valued, and your development is a shared priority.

Our mission is to train well-rounded, confident internists who excel in both clinical practice and professional growth. Whether your goal is to become a skilled primary care physician, a hospitalist, or to pursue fellowship training, we are committed to supporting your path. Our residents consistently match into a wide range of subspecialties, both within our institution and at programs across the country.

Education in our program is dynamic and multifaceted. Residents benefit from bedside teaching on rounds, interactive morning reports, structured noon conferences led by dedicated faculty and subspecialists, interdisciplinary learning sessions, and training in our newly renovated simulation center. In addition, close collaboration with fellows across cardiology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, pulmonary/critical care, and hematology-oncology enriches the learning environment.
